Specialists at Lakeland Regional Cancer Center have received numerous awards and recognition for outstanding medical skills and service to the community. We pride ourselves on being caring, compassionate and involved with our community. It is gratifying that others recognize and appreciate these qualities that translate into exceptional patient care.
Lakeland Regional Cancer Center’s Radiation Oncology Department was examined by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) in April 2007 awarded a full three-year Accreditation for the time period March 2007 - March 2010. ACRO stated “LRCC is a well organized and operated oncology practice that meets all of the ACRO standards for practice accreditation.” There were no deficiencies or areas of improvement noted in the survey report.

James W. Jakub, M.D.
Dr. James W Jakub has been chosen to be on the Editorial Advisory Board for American Breast Cancer Guide. The July 2004 edition of the publication features an article he wrote titled "Making Sense of Sentinel Node Biopsies."
The Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group selected the Lakeland Regional Cancer Center Clinical Trials staff to receive their national Quality of Life Award. This award demonstrates excellence in the quality and timeliness of data submitted on ECOG clinical trials.
